The XA Lab seminar was successfully held on JUL 22.
During the seminar, Master’s student Hyun Min Choi and Master’s student Hyun Ji Lee presented the research topics they will pursue this semester.
Name : Hyun Ji Lee
Title : Gap Between Design Intentions and Actual User Behavior in Public Spaces Developed Through International Design Competitions – An AI-Based Analysis of User Activities –
Summary : This is an initial analysis result visualizing people's staying and movement traces using the YOLO model, based on footage filmed at Nodeul Island. However, since it is at an initial analysis stage, the current results have a limitation in that people's staying patterns are not clearly visible. To address this, the analysis methods will be advanced in the future to capture stay duration and movement routes with higher accuracy and clarity.

Title : “A Study on the Boundary Conditions and Urban Connectivity of Rooftop Spaces in High-Density Cities.”
Summary : This is data and an explanation of key metrics used to quantify and analyze the characteristics of structures installed on rooftop spaces. In detail, it allows you to understand the scale and morphological characteristics of the structures through metrics such as the ratio of the roof area occupied by structures, the total count, and the ratio occupied by the largest single structure.
It contains comprehensive indicators that analyze various aspects, including the compactness and elongation of structures, how far they deviate from the center of the rooftop, whether they are attached to the outer edges, and how dispersedly they are arranged relative to one another.
It was a meaningful occasion for students to share their plans, exchange ideas, and receive constructive feedback. Their upcoming research is highly anticipated, and we look forward to seeing its development throughout the semester.
The seminar took place in the PT Room on the 4th floor of Building 22, and the next paper seminar is scheduled to be held on JUL 28.
