Seminars 36
The XA Lab seminar was successfully held on JUN 24.
During the seminar, Master’s student Hyun Ji Lee and Ph.D. student Siwoo Park presented the research topics they will pursue this semester.

Title : The Rebirth of Abandoned Spaces
Summary : I analyzed the pedestrian comfort and movement patterns in narrow and cluttered market alleyways using the Gama platform. To conduct this analysis, I reviewed various data formats, including CAD files, maps, and illustrations. Among these, I selected the illustration file, which yielded the highest accuracy and the fewest errors, for my final analysis. By precisely simulating the environment of these complex market alleyways, I was able to specifically identify how pleasant the environment is for pedestrians and how their actual movement paths are formed. These results will serve as essential foundational data for resolving pedestrian inconveniences and designing more walkable market spaces in the future.

Title : Gap Between Design Intentions and Actual User Behavior in Public Spaces Developed Through International Design Competitions – An AI-Based Analysis of User Activities –
Summary : This research established a systematic analysis framework to evaluate the target sites, based on key characteristics and elements derived from prior studies. First, I set three major areas—design intent, user behavior, and user perception—and developed specific analytical indicators for each area. Following this established evaluation framework, I conducted detailed analyses for each target site, including Busan Citizens Park, Seoullo 7017, and Nodeul Island, and organized the results according to the items in the table. By completing this table, I was able to grasp the characteristics of each site at a glance and finalize the comprehensive analysis.
It was a meaningful occasion for students to share their plans, exchange ideas, and receive constructive feedback. Their upcoming research is highly anticipated, and we look forward to seeing its development throughout the semester.
The seminar took place in the PT Room on the 4th floor of Building 22, and the next paper seminar is scheduled to be held on JUL 01.
