Seminars 37

The XA Lab seminar was successfully held on JUL 01.

During the seminar, Master’s student Sechang Oh and Master’s student Hyun Min Choi presented the research topics they will pursue this semester.

Title : The Impact ofvAI Image Generators on Design Thinking : An EEG Investigation

Summary : This data summarizes the results of the initial hypothesis testing. It compares the changes in frontal alpha waves between the manual method and the AI-assisted method during the ideation process.

According to the graph, the difference between the two conditions is minimal, at -0.20, and the p value is 0.741. Since this value is significantly higher than the standard threshold of 0.05, the analysis indicates that there is no statistically significant difference between the two methods.

Title : “A Study on the Boundary Conditions and Urban Connectivity of Rooftop Spaces in High-Density Cities.”

Summary : While we continue to use the Mask2former model for rooftop surface detection, we have introduced the YOLO model for detecting protrusions to enhance object recognition capabilities. This transition shifts our focus from simple area deduction to a more sophisticated process that precisely analyzes the position, orientation, and scale of protrusions to categorize the internal layout of the rooftops. Ultimately, this improvement allows us to grasp the structural characteristics of the space beyond merely calculating area data.

It was a meaningful occasion for students to share their plans, exchange ideas, and receive constructive feedback. Their upcoming research is highly anticipated, and we look forward to seeing its development throughout the semester.

The seminar took place in the PT Room on the 5th floor of Building 22, and the next paper seminar is scheduled to be held onJUL 08.
