The XA Lab seminar was successfully held on SEP 04.

During the seminar, Undergraduate Researcher Chae Min Im and Master’s student Fang Ruiying presented the research topics they will pursue this semester.

title : Distribution characteristics of old houses Analysis of Space Types Based

summary : This page contains presentation materials on analysis methods for aging housing. Using QGIS, we analyze building aging, building density, road and alley widths, parcel sizes, and distances between buildings, and we aim to study the process of generating spatial variables through the YOLO algorithm.

Title:Exploring Spatial Elements in Contemporary Experiential Environments: Spatial Elements, Atmosphere, and Human Experience

Summary: For my first research topic exploration, I chose temporary and immersive spaces, such as pop-up stores and theaters, as potential research contexts. This study explores how temporary spaces influence users’ spatial experiences, focusing on how changes in spatial layout, materials, circulation, and atmosphere affect the way people perceive and experience these environments. Through reviewing relevant concepts and previous studies, I aim to identify the relationships between spatial elements, atmosphere, and human experience, and to develop an analytical framework for comparing different types of temporary and experiential spaces.

It was a meaningful occasion for students to share their plans, exchange ideas, and receive constructive feedback. Their upcoming research is highly anticipated, and we look forward to seeing its development throughout the semester.

The seminar took place in the PT Room on the 4th floor of Building 22, and the next paper seminar is scheduled to be held on SEP 11.
