Seminars 32
The XA Lab seminar was successfully held on MAY 13.
During the seminar, Master’s student Hyun Min Choi and Master’s student Sechang Oh presented the research topics they will pursue this semester.

Title : “A Study on the Boundary Conditions and Urban Connectivity of Rooftop Spaces in High-Density Cities.”
Summary : Moving beyond a simple status assessment, this document presents a concrete spatial utilization plan designed to inject vertical vitality into a multi-use urban district.
The core of the strategy lies in the strategic vertical layering of diverse programs—such as retail, office, and residential—while simultaneously integrating three-dimensional outdoor elements like 'Active Terraces' and 'Green Lounges'between buildings. These interventions are designed to bridge architectural gaps and foster natural interaction between pedestrians and residents.
Ultimately, the proposal seeks to transform high-density development into an integrated, continuous community streetscape by utilizing rooftops and terraces as the primary connective tissue.

Title : The Impact ofvAI Image Generators on Design Thinking : An EEG Investigation
Summary : This experiment is designed to identify the impact of changes in library space configuration (Existing vs. Improved) within a virtual environment on users' navigational behavior and neurophysiological responses. The protocol involves participants exploring two different spatial conditions for 5 minutes each, interspersed with a rest period and followed by a survey; crucially, the study evaluates the efficacy of spatial design through objective biological markers by measuring functional connectivity in the prefrontal cortex (PFC) using fNIRS technology.
It was a meaningful occasion for students to share their plans, exchange ideas, and receive constructive feedback. Their upcoming research is highly anticipated, and we look forward to seeing its development throughout the semester.
The seminar took place in the PT Room on the 4th floor of Building 22, and the next paper seminar is scheduled to be held on MAY 20.
